Love Does by Bob Goff
Yesterday was the second time I read Love Does by Bob Goff and I still adore it.
Bob Goff does a fantastic job of making following Jesus a practical and relatable opportunity.
As I read Love Does, I felt like I was going on an adventure with a friend whose wisdom spilled out of them even when they were telling funny or embarrassing stories.
The overall theme of the book is encompassed well in its title, Love Does.
If we are to love like Jesus, we will take action.
Joy and even whimsy are found when we take action in our everyday lives.
Goff illustrates the difference between a faith that studies and a love that does in this quote:
“What I like about Jesus’ message is that we don’t need to just study him anymore to know him. That is what religious people at the time were promoting. Collecting information about someone is not the same as knowing a person. Stalkers are ordinary people who study from afar the people they are too afraid to really know.”
If we are to love like Jesus, we will not be stalkers of God, studying Him from afar. Instead, we will walk with our God and take action as we love our God and the people He places around us.
I highly recommend reading Love Does.
